What does this poem mean?

There could be different interpretations depending on the individual. But here goes my interpretation. I think it is about loving someone, thinking the world of them and then something changes and you feel differently about that person and your love for them withers away. So life goes on and you never know who will be the next. Sometimes falling in love is a never-ending feat.
