When will social networking and the surge of technology die/fade away?

In history, when the pendulum swings one way, it always eventually swings back the opposite way. Right now we are facing a time where technology is getting so strong that basic human-to-human communication is going downhill...I as a teen first hand experience the effects of texting, Facebook, etc, and can speak on the half of my friends and I when I say we wish nothing of this sort for future generations. It creates a lonely, lonely life with multitudes of lost time. I know I may even seem hypocritical speaking through a computer now. It may not be for a while, but when will all of this social networking and technology be rejected as negative in society?
