What's it really like? pros and cons...?

to date a very popular boy in highschool. i'm writing a story and it's actually going to be far more introspective and profound than it sounds. nevertheless, it's about a very shy girl who skyrockets into the popular crowd after the king of this tight knit click falls for her. just from personal experience or even indirect experience, i wanted to know what is it really like being in a relationship with someone who's truly that popular (preferrably during this time period in a person's life).
