Does he want me as a gf or just a plaything?

Me nd my guy friend like each other even though we don't want to lose our friendship we still took a chance. So he asked me out but I said no cuz Im afraid of commitment nd don't want to get hurt or him. Right now were just friends who flirt alot lol. But he also invited me to his house to "hang out" what does he want with me? Is he still trying to get with me as a couple or does he just want me as a friend he can play around with? Also if he liked me why dosent he just Tex me he always waits for me to Tex him ?!!
