My one year old is Very attached to her Binky(pacifier) ?

Do I need to take it away from her. When is the right age to not take a binky anymore. I tried to just give it to her when she is sleeping but she always seems to find it, and then sucks on it all day. Sorry if anyone things this is a stupid question I was just wondering bc my DH and I were talking about it. Thanks
