No boot display after installing new CPU whats wrong ?

Motherboard's BIOS is likely not recognizing the E6420. Open BIOS menu (Del key after powering ON). Check BIOS date. If BIOS is dated earlier than 2007, it may not recognize the E6420. This processor came out in Q2 2007. A BIOS update may resolve the issue.
